Guide vs Instructor: What's the Difference?
π§ Guides
Lead fun dives and show certified divers around local sites. Great for divemasters or anyone who knows their local waters well.
π Instructors
Teach certification courses and certify new divers. Requires an instructor rating from a recognized agency.
Both can host and earn from dive trips. You can be both if you want!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a divemaster to be a guide?
Not necessarily. While divemaster certification is common, what matters most is that you know your local dive sites well and can safely lead other certified divers. Upload whatever certifications you have to build trust.
How do payments work?
You set your own prices for guided dives and trips. Divers can book and pay through the platform, and you receive payouts directly to your bank account via Stripe.
Is there a fee to join?
No, joining is completely free. There are no monthly fees or subscriptions.
Can I be both a guide and an instructor?
Yes! Just enable both options in your settings. Many people do both - leading fun dives and teaching courses.
What kind of trips can I offer?
Anything from single guided dives to multi-day dive excursions. You can set up recurring trips to your local sites so visiting divers can easily book with you.
